Thank you to Lyndie for the information. 3/16/04
STEVE STEVENS AUCTION
Ernie Ball will auction off a one-of-a-kind chrome-plated Axis guitar,
previously owned by well-known guitarist Steve Stevens,
best recognized for his work with Billy Idol.
The eBay auction will start Thursday, March 4 and run through Sunday, March 15.
Chrome-plated especially for Stevens, the guitar was made in October 2002.
Stevens has graciously decided to donate the guitar to the Casey Lee Ball Foundation.
It sports the signatures of both Stevens and Idol on the chrome finish,
and comes with a Music Man hardshell case.
Steve has played with many artists including Robert Palmer, Steve Lukather,
Joni Mitchell, Rick Ocasek, Michael Jackson, Vince Neil, along with Idol.
All the proceeds of this auction benefit the Casey Lee Ball Foundation.
This non-profit organization works for the advancement of pediatric kidney research.
Casey Lee Ball, third son of Sterling Ball, was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease
at age two. At age five, while Casey and Sterling were recuperating from kidney transplant
surgery, they decided to create the Casey Lee Ball Foundation.
As a result of their tireless efforts over the last six years, several new medicines
have made it to the market in record time and are helping to reduce the side effects
of kidney transplant medications.
For more information about the foundation,
